Natural beauty and fascinating history

Sixt is officially designated as one of the ‘Most Beautiful Villages in France’, one of only five in the Alps. A living, working, authentic Alpine village, it’s noted both for its architectural heritage and especially its unspoiled nature conservation areas.

The ‘Cirque du Fer à Cheval’, a huge limestone horseshoe of cliffs and waterfalls 500-700m high, lies just beyond the village. Another top sight is the Cascade du Rouget, known locally as ‘Queen of the Waterfalls’.
